still life - skull with headphones by Miles-Johnston still life - skull with headphones by Miles-Johnston
Daaaymn, I recorded the whole process and was gonna slap together a little video tutorial with some talking to explain some of the stuff that goes into painting from life and my techniques in PS. Unfortunately the whole 4 hour file got corrupted. Just curious if anyone would be interested in something like that in the future, or are step by step pictures with text preferred? That is if anyone is interested at all.

Anyway, 4 hours, from life in one sitting, I wanted to get it all down before the light changed too significantly, some areas are pretty rough but I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. Time to do more!

I would be very interested in a time lapse. I still am yet to perfect a method for PS painting.

Oh it sucks that the file got corrupted because I would have loved to see a walk through video. Maybe you can make another one later, that would be great.

Interesting rendering of the disc. I always find it hard how to approach reflective surfaces or things with a low opacity. A video from you would be great to watch!

A process video is always nice! I'd love to hear your thoughts on how you get the contrast between smooth/rough to blend so well!

Yes! The video would be great. Though, step by steps could be more informative. I'd be most interested in seeing how you use different brushes.

I would love to have seen a video on this. Even a time-lapse/sped up version would be informative to see the techniques used. Too bad about the file :(

Love your work, Miles. And yes, I am always interested in watching other artists work, its amazing the things you can learn just by watching legit artists work their magic. Your style reminds me very much of [link] except you do more people instead of environments, I very much appreciate your work, keep it up!

impressive still life miles. i too had a similar problem with recording a study process. the file got corrupted in the end and there was no way of recovering it :\ what were you using to record it? i used hyper cam XD but perhaps i should try for something else hehe.

anyway, this is really awesome. i have to do some more still life studies as well :D
